I wish this kind of information/support was available 25 years ago when I found out I had this condition. Thankfully, I was able to have 2 children. However, I miscarried the first time, then had a son via C-section because he was in a breach presentation. Twenty two months later, I had a daughter, VBAC. Carried both of them 38-39 weeks. Each were 6.9 lbs and 5.15 lbs respectively. With such a small uterus, they dont grow too big while inside mommy! I am a Christian and the Good Lord has blessed me in spite of this anomoly...

Hello! I am 24 years old and am 99% sure that i have UD, but the one time i went to get a pap was at a health clinic and the doctor was less than remotely helpful or informing. As i was being checked out she leaned back and said "hm, well you have two vaginas. I've been scarred ever since and haven't been able to find the courage to go back to a OBGYN. Just looking for some insight and what kind of thought process you went through! At the time i was worried about it but like i said i am now 24 in a committed relationship and hope to someday have children. My bf does not know about the UD. WEIRD i know. The last OB i went to was when the doctor told me that and that was when i was 20. Any bit of insight helps i do most my searching online which doesn't help! This is a great sight and i'm hoping it helps!

Thanks for creating this site. As someone who only recently found out I had UD, its great to see a site with so many other women facing similar issues. Karina- I am 29 and have been seeing the same OBGYN for several years. During my most recent annual checkup, I got the "hmm, I didnt see this before," which I think probably caused the same anxiety you experienced at your visit. Luckily though, my awesome Doc immediately explained things for me and scheduled a time for a vaginal ultrasound, which confirmed the diagnosis. An additional ultrasound may be required to verify that there aren't any other abnormalities (such as with the kidneys). Believe me, I freaked out and then some! I JUST underwent surgery to remove the vaginal septum, and I can honestly say that recover is easier than I had imagined. My doc also referred me to meet with a High Risk pregnancy specialist, so that I had a chance to ask questions and hear from an expert. True - everything I have heard can seem pretty scary, but reading about the success that other women have had helps to keep me positive. I hope that helps!
