I have a vaginal septum and have some questions about it.

First of all, have any of you gotten your septum removed? If so, what was you experience like?  Was it worth it?

Second of all, what have been your experiences with sex with your septum? Sex is problem free for me (with the occasional pain when my septum is hit) but, I wonder if it would be better without my septum.  I also wonder about how it affects using my PC muscles.  Do any of you know anything about this?

Finally, I was wondering if anyone has found a way to use their "two vaginas" (I hate that term by the way) to their advantage in making sex better.  (:

I plan on asking a bunch of questions like these at my next exam but I know that my doctor doesn't know a great deal about UD.  Maybe you guys can be more helpful!

Hello! I had mine 'removed' six weeks ago. Actually, they cut it right down the middle and stitched it to the sides. I had a doctor who wanted to cut it out, but I went to a specialist and said this was better. It took about six weeks to heal... hubby was under 'hands off' from the doctor lol. The procedure was fine. Two days later, though, I woke up and had a bowel movement... this was kinda bad, the stiches started bleeding and it kinda freaked me out, but it stopped and was okay.

By the time we had the green light, we had one night before my period started. Hubby said it does not feel looser at all. He can feel the scarring, don't know if that will fade.

Unexpected bonus - period went from 5-7 days to done in 3! Dr says it's cuz the skin isn't slowing the flow. It feels sensitive to tampons, again I don't know if that will fade. No more 'crooked' tampons, though, which is also nice!!!

Anyways... My procedure was April 27th, so I'm still kinda in recovery, but so far it seems okay.

I had mine removed June 14. so it is five and a half weeks ago. Still dropping stiches. Mine was divided in op, and i just found out. I was thinking that they would remove it, but no. I hope it will adjust to normal. I have pushed my periode now for months, and it will come in a few days. I am curious and dont know what to expect.

It's been three months now since my procedure, and everything is fine. My periods are shorter, the dr says it's cuz the skin isn't backing up my flow. Also, the sensitivity I felt before is gone. Sex is ... good! In fact, I think it is better somehow. Maybe the removal of that skin allows for more sensation along the whole cavitiy?

For me, I think it was worth. Just make sure you get a good Reproductive Endocrinologist, not just an OB to do it. And make sure the facility is in-network! ha! That got me. Ouch.

Hi. Ok I have the whole uterine didelphys with a vaginal septum deal. The left side of this ordeal is smaller than the right side so I usually have sex on the right side of the septum since I have to physically hold the septum to the side in order to have sex on the left side. The one time my husband and I had sex on the left(smaller) side I got pregnant. I am concerned about how difficult the vaginal septum will cause birth to be for me since the baby will be coming out of the smaller much tighter side.

Anyone have advice?? I really don't like the idea of a c-section but I don't want to put the baby at risk or cause damage to my vagina by having a vaginal birth. And I am seriously considering having the septum removed (once I'm able to) since I have read y'alls success stories. :)
