About Me
I have 2 uteri and 2 cervixes. Also had a full vaginal septum, which I had removed in 2005, with great results. My partner and I are still undecided about having a baby but it is great to hear from others who have been through pregnancies and deliveries to understand what to expect should we decide to try. |

About Me
Well where to begin, I am a 36 year old female who found out at the age of 16 that something just wasn't "normal" with me. I always had severely heavy periods and it wasn't till I went to a health clinic for birth control that the nurse pulled me into a separate room to talk with me after my examination... As you can imagine I wasn't quite ready to hear what came next... "TWO UTERUS" who the hell has that and then quickly followed up with the kick to the stomach line of "there's a good chance you won't be able to have children, unless you miscarriage multiple times first" Wow where does one go from there... Well I learned to cope with it and slowly the tears went away each time I saw a mother with her child playing and laughing... It tore me apart but I just assumed my life had other plans. Well over the next few years, I suffered through endometriosis as well as many other "girly" problems but I ticked along just living.. When one fateful day I realized my period was late, hmmm that's strange.. But since it had happened a few times before, I didn't think to much of it and I waited.. When it didn't come at a month later I finally pee'd on a stick and lo and behold "your pregnant" right there on the screen... So I assumed I would miscarry and I waited fingers crossed that it would work out, and after one of the most stressfull pregnancies ever I carried my wee pumpkin till 39 weeks (which I was told would never happen) and then to have given birth vaginaly, yet another milestone... Into the world came my beautiful little princess... Skip ahead 6 years and numerous cramp ridden, heavy periods later and a rather large health scare with my heart... I am now waiting for my scheduled hysterectomy and I am nervous to say the least... I am sure it's the right thing to do but a part of me is just so damn scared and also.. Who will I be when this is all gone... I've spent over half my life as this freak girl with the two uterus.. Now what? |
