Hi! I just came across this and hope people actively use this page. It would be great to have someone to discuss and go through this with who understands! I went to the doctor around 15 due to horribly painful periods. I threw up every month due to the pain. I was always brushed off because a lot of girls have cramps. I could tell they just thought I was being dramatic... I wasnt.đ I was put on the pill to make my periods lighter, which did really help! Fast forward a few years, at 18 I decided to try an IUD because I was in a serious relationship and wasnt good at remembering to take my pill every day. After a traumatic experience at the doctors office (the worst pain I have ever been in), they were concerned with how difficult it was to locate my cervix and wanted to do a vaginal ultrasound. This wasnt my first ultrasound. I had one at 15, but they didnt find anything. When having it done this time, the lady instantly noticed and made a comment that I was very unique. I was diagnosed with uterine didelphys and have 2 of everything. I also had a septum which I had surgically removed. Here I am now at 26, married, and thinking about ttc in the near future, but I am scared. I have so many questions that my doctors cant answer. I'm worried that since I havent started trying yet, it may take years to conceive, and how many miscarriages will I have to go through? I know everything is worst case scenario running through my mind, but it really is terrifying to think about all the what ifs. If there are people that actively use this forum, I would love to keep in contact!

Hi there, Thanks so much for your message and sharing your experience! I found out at a similar age and am currently 28 - so, reasonably similar situations :) We have many women on the site who have successfully conceived and had children, Iâm sure we can find someone for you to chat with if that would be helpful? There are also quite a few fb groups now (mine and othersâ pages!) which are really fantastic resources. Iâll also find a link for you to the old website forum; we have hundreds of forum topics there, which Iâm sure youâd find reassuring/informative. Thank you again for sharing your story, I hope you find the site useful. Iâm sure that so many people here would also find your experience helpful! Iâd actually love to hear how you found the removal of your septum if itâs something youâd be comfortable discussing at some point. Itâs something Iâve actually been considering too after not wanting to for nearly 15 years! Thereâs always more to learn from each other! Itâs lovely to speak to you, I hope we can chat more! Cat, UK

What is your Facebook group? I'm happy for any resources at this point! Yes I'm happy to share my septum removal experience. There isnt much to it, so I will share on here. They recommended the surgery right after they discovered everything. I discussed with my mom and we agreed it was best to go ahead and have it removed, since it would likely cause problems one day when giving birth. I also heard it could be painful during sex, which I was clueless about at the time. The surgery was a short outpatient procedure. I took a few days to heal, but not as long as I should have. While sitting in a college class one day, I could feel huge blood clots coming out. After class, I stood up and my jeans were soaked in blood all the way to my ankles. I went straight to the doctor and my stitches had come loose. I went back into surgery that night for her to fix them. Overall it was a good experience and I am glad I did it, but I would recommend more resting time than I gave myself.
